A next generation asthma puffer,the Sports-Haler is designed to take standard Ventolin or Asmol asthma medication canisters and has been created especially for use by active asthmatics.
Compact and convenient,the Sports-Haler allows an asthmatic to particpate in their sport or activity of choice with confidence knowing their rescue medication is protected and is easily and quickly accessible.
A medication canister is inserted into the body of the sports-haler the same way as when using the old style asthma puffer.
The sports-haler is then sealed with a flexible end cap.
When needed the mouthpiece cover is opened by twisting it,allowing the mouthpiece to extend out.
The sports-haler is then used the same way as old style puffers by pressing the end cap to release a metered dose.
After use the mouthpiece is retracted with a twist action,and forms a protective seal.

How it works:
A medication canister is simply inserted into the body of the Sports-haler (in the same way you would a traditional asthma inhaler). The Sports-haler body is then sealed with a flexible end cap. When needed, the mouthpiece cover is opened by twisting it, allowing the mouthpiece to extend out. The Sports-haler is then used in the traditional way by pressing the end cap to release a metered dose. After use the mouthpiece is retracted with a twist action, forming a protective seal.
The Sports-haler has been realised thanks in part to support from Queensland Government Smart State initiatives and an Innovation Start-up Scheme for future medical device development and has since been successfully received by customers in Australia.
